Livelihood
Development International is an incorporated not-for-profit charity. The African Headquarters are based in Jinja set in “state of the art” premises to portray an image
of dignity, living positively and with purpose. Jinja is the biggest industrial
town and second largest town of Uganda.
Livelihood Development International was founded by a group
of concerned Ugandans and their international colleagues and professional
friends, in response to the need to address situations brought about by the
realization of the injustices and inequities suffered by the marginalized
people. These poor are the target group and the focus of the programs being
developed by Livelihood Development International (LDI) and will have a
positive environmental effect.
Board
of Directors
Livelihood Development International has a very capable Board of Directors who are passionate about the work that has started and the next steps in the expanded program. The LDI is well planned with staff and board members already working in Uganda and an international group with board members gathering resources and resource people to assist from overseas. They will work in conjunction with local health and NGO resources.
The Board is composed of health professionals, managers, educators, community planners and people from development disciplines, active in developing livelihood programs, health, educational and support services and who work in partnership with the marginalized populations. This partnership will enable the marginalized to contribute to the process of improving their quality of life by participating in a comprehensive package of health, educational and social service programs.
